BHIM APP: Is it safe to use BHIM App? 0 2012

What is bhim app

BHIM (BHarat Interface for Money) App launched by Indian Government and till time when I am writing this blog, total downloads from the play store is 51,448 and with review rating 4.2.

Some of them find it good but not working on their mobile.

NDTV mentioned the comment about Angutha Chhap where now it become the money for you.

We have worked upon and see how this app works, sorry we have to hide some of the information in the video to avoid any issue you know.

What we are confuse about the use of this APP to use your thumb, a kind a biometric impression which linked with you aadhar and bank account number. This will give you the way to connect everything on the mobile. Is it safe? If someone cut my thumb then? OK, sound like cut can be the case of over limit but buddy if your bank in your phone then don’t you think your passcode can be asked on the gun point. We have to understand any app which is working through mobile is safe for any money transaction? I am sure we are not left with any choice by the Indian government.

I am just worried about the decision of cashless, although I am the IT guy, and love the gadgets and app but financial app must be that much protective and should have measure like kind a two passcode system where one passcode will be connected with the nearby police station. In case someone asked you the passcode you can have it give him that passcode which called the Police or emergency signal to bank to use the fake transaction and have the person imprint photo from the mobile be received.

Information technology is really go wider and wider and we are becoming smaller and smaller but don’t let it be on human and should be in control.

Use BHIM App Securely and have many suggestion to Indian Government to make the app safe.  We also try to request balance but I didn’t get success to get the balance from the my bank. Seems like still lot more improvements might be going on.  So let have more suggestion to the Indian Government.

Here are five things you need to know about the BHIM app:

  1. BHIM or Bharat Interface for Money is a rebranded version of Unified Payment Interface or UPI and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data or USSD.
  2. The BHIM app can be used on a smartphone or a regular feature phone, and soon it will be improved so that one only has to use their thumb to make payments.
  3. “Be it a smartphone or feature phone of Rs. 1,000-1,200, BHIM app can be used. There is no need to have Internet connectivity. One only needs a thumb. There was a time when an illiterate was called ‘angutha chchap’. Now, time has changed. Your thumb is your bank now. It has become your identity now,” the PM said.
  4. The BHIM app can be downloaded for Android phones from the Google Play store. It will later be made available on the iOS platform too.
  5. To use BHIM, one needs to register their bank account through the app and set up a UPI pin. Through BHIM, one can send or receive money to another phone number, check balance and even scan a QR code to make payments. Using BHIM, money can be sent to non-UPI banks through IFSC as well, just like net banking.
