Hima Das : First Indian Woman Athlete Won Gold in International Tournament 0 1954

Hima Das, 18 years old girl of Assam,has made history. She makes the country proud by winning gold medal in women’s 400 meter race in the Under-20 Athletics Junior Championships held in Tampere of Finland on July 12. Hema has congratulated by many big Bollywood Celebs for the victory.

She also finished the Commonwealth Games in both the 400 meters and the 4×400 meters relay. In the 400 meters, Das qualified for the final, where she finished sixth in the time of 51.32 seconds, 1.17 seconds after the gold medalist Amantle Montsho from Botswana. In 4×400 metres relay, she was a part of the Indian team which competed in the final where they finished seventh in the first time of three minutes and 33.61 seconds. She has won the Gold Medal in the 400 meters at 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, becoming the first Indian to win the World Championships titles in any track event.
