India is in the era where Indians don’t want to be dominated by any part of the world. Indian citizens try to spread the message to boycott the Chinese products. India is the world largest consumer and there is no use of any product if consumer not exist.

This is not the first time when China just back off and deceived India, in latest June 24 China uses its veto power to oppose India’s membership in NSG.

Young Kanpurites, who generally do not take much interest in politics, took this issue seriously and targeted China with their sharp comments on Facebook. They even circulated messages on Whatsapp groups and asked their friends to stop using Chinese products to register their protest. They also pulled the dragon into trolling zone on social networking sites to express their anger over China’s move in opposing India’s membership of NSG. Many people directly blamed China for thwarting India’s bid to NSG while others raised questions on the fact that if three out of five BRICS nations had voted against India then why India is still a part of BRICS group.

“Some countries who control the NSG are like shopkeepers who sell fruits at the front door but make more money by running a butcher shop at the backyard, and China is one of them”, wrote Subham Singh, a student, on the Facebook.

“China, Brazil and South Africa were against India’s entry in NSG. South Africa relented in the last hour. Does India have to be part of such a treacherous organisation where three out of five countries have stabbed us in the back?” questioned a young entrepreneur on his social blog.

What will be the impact of boycotting Chinese Products?

Imagine that we have decided to boycott i.e. ban the imports of Chinese goods and services. Following will be the immediate consequences:

  1. The computer/laptop that you would have used to post this question on Quora will no longer be available. Your access to internet and IT is cut off.
  2. Most probably your mobile is made in China so you will lose that too. No more voice or data connectivity on the go.
  3. Many of the power plants in India are using Chinese equipment.
  4. Many infrastructure projects are using Chinese machinery and expertise.
  5. Chinese firms are the biggest and most competitive in the field of infrastructure. By adopting this method we will ensure our infrastructure bottlenecks for a long time to come.
  6. Even Japan and Vietnam, who  have really serious differences with China, do not contemplate such a course.
  7. How do you cut yourself off from what would soon be the world’s biggest economy?
  8. Chinese have a very big presence in Banks and Finance. Do we want to be isolated from their financial services? What about the BRIC bank which will be based in Shanghai?
  9. When we talk of China why should we forget that it includes HK and Taiwan too?
  10. Chinese have already starting innovating and in few years they will be one of the leaders in innovations. As they used to be until 16th century when they also decided to isolate themselves from the world.
  11. In terms of Scholastic achievements PISA test students from Shanghai, China, had the top scores of every category (Mathematics, Reading and Science) in 2009 and 2012. Similar was the case for HK, Taiwan, S.Korea and Japan. While of the 74 countries tested in the PISA 2009 cycle including the “+” nations, the two Indian states of TN and HP came up 72nd and 73rd out of 74 in both reading and maths, and 73rd and 74th in science. We may note that Chinese were not top performers they could be because they abandoned their earlier “focus on educating a small elite, and instead worked to construct a more inclusive system. They also significantly increased teacher pay and training, reducing the emphasis on rote learning and focusing classroom activities on problem solving.”[22] Read Programme for International Student Assessment.
  12. This implies that very soon China may climb up the innovation curve rapidly. We may also need to learn from them about improving our school education.
  13. By interlinking and not boycotting we will ensure that we avail the most competitive prices or at least we have the choice.
  14. It was earlier periods of isolation which held India backward. Do we wish to go back to growth rates of -ve or at most 2%. British period is also a period of isolation when they had isolated us from the world except for their benefit and  on their terms and conditions.
  15. We have to remember that economic growth can result only by the enhancement of productivity. This enhancement can come by more skilled workforce, better tools and sufficient infrastructure. By isolating ourselves from the sources of productivity growth we condemn ourselves to a static input output ratio. Imagine your productivity minus laptop and mobile.
  16. To be frank our present life style will come crashing down even if we just try such an experiment.

One reading Boycotting China? Good luck you will be amazed how our life will be get affected. So it is sure that we cannot boycott everything which is made in China.

Glimpse of Boycotting Chinese product!!

We had our work cut out for us. China makes 56% of the household kitchen appliances, such as toasters, 86% of the lamps and 80% of the luggage imported into the country, according to 2006 U.S. International Trade Commission figures. The commission may have found that only 56% of small appliances were imported from China, yet when I scoured the store shelves for an ordinary coffee maker, I couldn’t find one that wasn’t.

During our yearlong boycott, those numbers translated into futile searches for birthday candles, flip-flops and cheap sunglasses. The boycott rearranged our lives in little ways. We boiled water and poured it into a filter over mugs after our coffee maker quit and we couldn’t find an affordable non-Chinese alternative. The kitchen junk drawer was jammed shut all year because the part to fix it was made in China. We found the words “Made in China” in unexpected places, such as on a box of discount candy canes and on wedding dresses.

I am not sure Indian could have that courage to do that. Because major employments of India came from other country, traders are dependent on Chinese product, their homes enlighted with other country product. Indians, not even have trust on each other, they are running behind hypocrisy of life.  On Radio Mirchi I heard that one big millionaire donate his money to children upbringing, education, where as one man cannot donate 100 Rupees to the children of Society for celebrating Dusshera.

Indians also having lack of faith in their leaders because they deceived them much more than China. Why it is happening. Because Indians are busy in entertaining themselves and keep living the life to say that it is the only way to work. So why the hell you guys are commenting to boycott chinese product where you even change your attitude towards your country. How many of you really pay income tax or want to pay income tax? If you don’t get hurt or not wake up then someone will hurt you and then you wake up it will be too late guys and you don’t have any thing in your hand.

Go and fight for reservation that all you can do, or run behind the people like Kanhaiyalal, or Owasi, and suck yourself with blindfolded.  I had watched the movie “Baby” , in that there was the dialogue of one actor who was playing as terrorist leader, he said “India ek pareshaan mulk he!!”.  I believe he was quite true.

How many of you believe in public servant works, how much they do their duties with responsibilities. These bureaucrats or any government employee just do the duty for the living their children and sent them to out of India for higher studies. How many Indians who belong to village went back to village to use their knowledge for the uplift ment of their own village? Very few..

So I don’t think India has any level of capability to boycott chinese product. Post your comments to see how much you are awake in getting the things done.
