Born in Punkunnam, Kerala on September 12, 1999, Priya Prakash Varrier won millions of hearts not only in India but made fans in countries like Egypt and Pakistan too.
The beautiful lady has got more than 3.2 million fans on social networking site Instagram and on Facebook, she already has over 250,000 followers.
A 28-second video clip trailer for a song in her debut Malayalam film, Oru Adaar Love, in one scene of which she winks flirtatiously, was published on YouTube on 9 February and had received over 10 million hits by 14 February.
She became one of the most searched-for Indian people on Google for a 24 hour period. With 6,00,000 gained in 24 hours on Instagram, Varrier set a world record of third most followers gained in a day after footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and media person Kylie Jenner.

Priya is a B Com student at Thrissur’s Vimala College. She is a trained classical dancer and she can also be seen dressed in the Mohiniyattam costume in some Instagram photos.
After getting all the attention on social media suddenly, Priya says she is overwhelmed by all the love. “I am very happy. Don’t know how to handle so much love. It’s completely surreal,” said Priya.
In her Instagram post, Priya also revealed that she was chosen for a small role in the film but it turned out to be very different. “I was actually selected to do a very small role in Oru Adaar Love but ended up doing a prominent role in it.
I was so new to the industry and had no clue about the acting. It was just my director Omar Lulu sir who made me act and the credit for the viral ‘winking’ & ‘gun shoot’ goes to him.
The young actress, who went viral with the wink, told that the action was just ‘spontaneous and she never thought that video clip would become such a hit.’ In the viral clip, Priya flirts with a fellow student, who was smitten by her wink and smile.
“Actually, the director wanted to capture something cute between me and my hero. So he told me if I can do the eyebrow thing and wink at him. I told him that I could give it a try. That’s how it worked out. It was spontaneous and we hadn’t planned anything,” priya told.
