The Datsun Go hatchback is the company’s new budget hatchback, which is spacious and slightly more powerful than its closest competitors including Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon 1.0. Maruti Suzuki Celerio-MSI is currently rulling the entry-level car segment, and has a range of products in this segment. The Celerio is a small hatchback, which is positioned between the Wagon R and the Ritz. The hatchback is available in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol motor is a 1.0-litre 3-pot motor producing 67bhp and 90Nm, while the oil burner is a small, 793cc, 2-cylinder unit that is good for 46bhp of power and 125Nm of torque. Transmission options include five-speed manual and an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox. The Celerio is priced in the range of INR 3.97 lakh to INR 5.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Ford Figo-The Ford Figo hatchback is one of the most spacious, driver friendly cars available in our market. The small car is the company’s cheapest product in our market; it is priced at INR 4.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the gasoline version gets 1.2-litre unit that is good for 70bhp and 102Nm, the oil burner is a 1.4-litre motor producing 68bhp and 160Nm of torque. Hyundai i10-First launched in 2007, the i10 has been the company’s one of the best selling models in the country. Powering the small car is a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder, iRDE2 engine that develops 68bhp.
